Becoming a Maltese Resident

Why would you? Why wouldn’t you is what I would be asking. Malta has become a hub for relocation since the 1994 Permanent residence scheme and more recently with the launch of the Global Residence Regulation scheme in 2014.
Dealing with a lot of international clients and having partnered up with some of the Key Services providers locally I often encounter the same issues and questions. So why not talk about a topic that is becoming a daily requirement.
I wrote this article to explain the benefits and reasons of why one should consider becoming Maltese resident. Yes the country benefits from great weather but that’s not enough …it also benefits from its geographical location; its vicinity to main land Europe and Africa; its EU membership, being bi-lingual plus offering a highly skilled workforce. The reasons are endless and the facilities available have grown to accommodate the growing demands and expectations of individuals retiring or relocating for business purposes.
One can in fact walk our streets and realise just how multicultural diverse we are becoming yet how well integrated we are within our day to day life. Building projects have also taken into consideration the growing need, demand and higher end specs required by clients offering numerous options from our SDAs, to business centres and office spaces available.
The country has seen growth in many sectors such as gaming, banking, and investment firms and with it has comes changes and developments to accommodate for it.
